You want to feel centered, calm and at ease in motherhood, but when you’re constantly thinking about what needs to be done next and managing everyone else’s needs…then that thought gets lost…buried in all that you’re trying to stay on top of.

I’ve been there too.

I always had the best intentions…when the kids go to bed, I’ll knit…I’ll wake up early before the kids to journal….I’ll take some time when they go to school before I jump into to work…but each day there always seemed to be more urgent things to do, or I was too tired.

When I was forced to take care of myself for a few weeks, due to an unexpected surgery, I realized how much better I felt overall when my needs were met. While I knew I couldn’t let everything go all the time, it showed me that I had to make it a priority to fit self-care into our life.

What I learned was that small pockets of time where we can focus on ourselves, even if it’s for five minutes at a time, can make a huge difference in how I approach self-care and how I feel throughout the day.

And that is how the Personalized Self-Care Toolkit was born!
